{"id":218,"date":"2023-06-15T12:20:24","date_gmt":"2023-06-15T12:20:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/maddox.pro\/?p=218"},"modified":"2023-06-15T12:22:00","modified_gmt":"2023-06-15T12:22:00","slug":"ltnt-long-time-no-type","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.maddox.pro\/?p=218","title":{"rendered":"LTNT (long time no type)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I am trying to keep my blog (this thing) updated regularly, but I&#8217;m failing so here are three updates in one!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>PDP11 Hack Plus<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I&#8217;ll give a quick update on a number of things, firstly with the PDP11 Hack plus board I&#8217;ve been doing. Basically I can&#8217;t get it jump into the onboard monitor or ODT (Octal Debugging Technique). Whilst I can see a clock and I can see at power up some address and data lines change as if it is looking for a boot strap of some kind, but I cannot get it into the ODT.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mr Usagi Electric has kindly offered to test my DCJ11 chip for me in one of his PDP11s, you don&#8217;t know who he is, do check out <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/@UsagiElectric\">his awesome YouTube channel<\/a>, it&#8217;s full of retro goodness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So that project is on hold for a while, I do plan to integrate it with the backplane system my other half has been working on which uses DIN41612 connectors, she&#8217;s made a 6502, 6809 and 68008 based processor boards that plug in with a common pin out. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"338\" src=\"https:\/\/www.maddox.pro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/20230528_083643-1024x338.jpg\" alt=\"Jayne's CPU boards\" class=\"wp-image-219\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.maddox.pro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/20230528_083643-1024x338.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.maddox.pro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/20230528_083643-300x99.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.maddox.pro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/20230528_083643-768x253.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.maddox.pro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/20230528_083643-1140x376.jpg 1140w, https:\/\/www.maddox.pro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/20230528_083643.jpg 1438w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Delta<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Delta now has a case, and looks great, again, this is just a technology demonstrator and not a final package. I&#8217;ve brought the USB ports for the FPGA and CPU out to the back panel so I can debug when I need. I&#8217;m on medication for this but it&#8217;s a slow process. I&#8217;ve also had my anti depressants changed and whilst I&#8217;m not as fed up with life, it&#8217;s still not easy. There are days when just getting out of bed is a win.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I have a new job which is really interesting and a lot less stress which is a massive help to me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I am lucky to have my partner, Jayne and my dog, Suzi to keep me going.
